We do not open email attachments, unless specifically requested by an agent. Your entire submission must appear in the body of the email and not as an attachment.
To avoid falling into spam, the subject line should begin as follows: QUERY: (The title of the manuscript or any short message you would like us to see should follow)
Fiction
Please email a query letter along with the first chapter of your manuscript and a synopsis. Please be sure to include the genre and word count in your cover letter. Picture book submissions: short query along with entire manuscript in body of email.
Non-fiction
Please email your full non-fiction proposal including a query letter and a sample chapter. For detailed guidelines on how to write a non-fiction proposal, please check out the FAQ section.
Please do not send an exclusive query. Queries are meant to be shared with multiple agencies.
Queries sent to personal emails will be deleted. Please send only to the address above.
Additionally, we freely pass along submissions if we feel they are more appropriate for another agent within our agency, so there is no need to query multiple agents at Bradford Lit. Our bios and interests are available under the “About” tab.
It is our goal to respond to every query we receive. Our approximate response time for queries is 2 to 4 weeks. If you have not received a response within 1 month, please resend your query and note that you are sending it again.
